See your website the way an AI does
The AI X-Ray is a free bookmarklet that scans any page of your site and tells you honestly what a search or answer engine can and cannot cite. No account, no install, no data sent anywhere.
Step 1 of 3
Drag this button to your bookmarks bar
On desktop: drag the button below up to your browser’s bookmarks bar (or Favourites bar). That’s it.
Drag me up to your bookmarks bar
Or: click it right here to run the X-Ray on this page and see how it works.
Three steps, then you’re done
- Drag the “X-Ray my page” button above to your browser’s bookmarks bar. You only do this once.
- Open any page of your own website in the same browser.
- Click the X-Ray my page bookmark. The overlay appears in a few seconds.
What it shows you
The X-Ray reads your page’s structured data (schema), headings, and visible text and reports back honestly:
- Can an AI attribute your business by name and location? It checks your Organization or LocalBusiness schema actually carries a name and a real address, map location, or service area, not just the schema type.
- Is your price readable, in schema or in plain text? It names the actual amount it finds. Prices inside images or booking widgets are invisible to AI.
- Is there a FAQ an AI can quote? It requires a FAQPage with at least one real question and answer, not just an empty FAQ container.
- Is there exactly one H1 heading, a phone an AI can dial, and machine-readable opening hours? Each tick names the value it found and the layer it found it in (schema or visible text).
- …and the single most important fix, stated as a plain CMS action, not code.
Honesty rule: every green tick names the actual value it found and the layer it read it from (schema or visible text). Where a signal is weak or ambiguous, it shows a neutral dash, never a green tick. Where it cannot tell, it says so.
Good to know
Bookmarklets are a desktop thing. They work in Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari on a computer. On mobile, bookmarklets are fiddly at best and blocked at worst. Some sites also use Content Security Policy (CSP) headers that stop injected scripts from running altogether. If either applies to you, use the paste fallback below instead.
Mobile or blocked? Use the paste option
Paste your page’s source HTML
Open your page in a browser, right-click anywhere, choose “View Page Source”, select all, copy, and paste it below. The same X-Ray scanner runs on the pasted HTML. Note: the paste option reads the page source your server sends, not the version your browser builds after scripts run, so results can differ slightly from the bookmarklet. For the closest match to what an AI sees, use the bookmarklet on the live page.
No data is sent anywhere. Everything runs in your own browser.
